I'm Nichole. I'm a writer, photographer, and author of The Paris Journal, Paris in Love and Paris in Color (a Chronicle Books bestseller). I'm also the Co-founder and Creative Director of Obvious State--a New York-based design studio inspired by literature and language.
The Paris Print Shop contains fine art prints of my photography, all of which are printed in-house in our studio, using museum-quality, archival, 100% cotton paper. You can also purchase signed copies of my books and Paris paper goods.
I’m consistently drawn to the way color contrasts Paris’ neutral facades, the way layers of paint erode into a form of abstract art, and to the details that are often overshadowed by the Eiffel Tower and other iconic landmarks.
My latest project, The Paris Journal, combines a fictional narrative with photography for an exhilarating diary of a day.
SOME RECENT PRESS:
"The brilliant minds at Obvious State just made us fall in love with Paris all over again." Elle Magazine
"Co-authors Evan and Nichole Robertson pull back those fine French gossamer curtains to give us a rare treat: a full day's meandering through a single neighborhood. This sans-itinerary virtual escape captures the essential spirit of City of Light as no guidebook can." Instyle Magazine
My work has also been featured by Martha Stewart, CNN Travel, Real Simple, The New York Times, L.A. Times, Pottery Barn, Apartment Therapy, Daily Candy, HGTV, BuzzFeed, My Modern Met and HBO.
