WELCOME TO THE PARIS PRINT SHOP
The Paris Print Shop offers a selection of original fine art photographs, calendars, postcards and other Paris-inspired paper goods. All photography is taken by Nichole Robertson, and illustrations are rendered by her husband Evan. We print everything in our studio using an archival, heavyweight, 100% cotton paper. It has a natural matte finish with a slight texture that stays as true to the vibrant images as it does to the natural, worn textures of the city itself.
ABOUT THE PARIS COLOR PROJECT
Nichole began the project shortly after she moved to Paris in January 2009. What began as snapshots of her neighborhood evolved into a series of photographs that document color on the city’s streets. She's drawn to the way color contrasts Paris’ neutral facades and gray skies, the way layers of paint erode into a form of abstract art, and to the details that are often overshadowed by the Eiffel Tower and other iconic landmarks - doors, chairs, graffiti, window boxes, cobblestones, textures and other pedestrian pleasures.
Each image was discovered in a similar way - serendipitously - while walking on an unfamiliar street. She sought out objects that resonated with the energy of the city, one particular color at a time. But color was not the subject - it simply focused her attention and revealed details she may have otherwise overlooked.
Nichole's work has been featured by Martha Stewart, Real Simple, The New York Times, Design Sponge, Decor8, Apartment Therapy, Daily Candy and HGTV.
Her book, “Paris in Color” by Chronicle Books is available in bookstores and boutique shops, including Anthropologie.
